Harpist In The Wind

There was conflict everywhere, and unrest, stirred up by Morgon's battle with Ohm—the corrupt wizard—by the reappearance of other ancient wizards, and by the activities of the mysterious shape-changers. All of it was tied together somehow, Morgon knew. But how he did not know. Who was Ohm? Who for that matter was the harpist Deth, who had once betrayed Morgon into Ohm's hands? And who were the shape-changers and what did they want?

A Prince of Hed, which Morgon had once been, was of necessity a man of peace. But there was no peace within Morgon or without. He was tortured by what he did not know and pursued by the knowledge that his battle with Ohm and with Deth and with the shape-changers was only begun. His consolations were his love for Raederle, and her for him and his conviction that Hed was well cared for by Eliard, his brother. But that was not enough. Driven relentlessly on by his need to find the shape of his own destiney and his struggle to avoid death—or worse, control by Ohm or by the shape-changers—he plunged into a search that gave him only more riddles.

Deeper and deeper Morgon moved into himself—into the perplexing relationships between people, wizards and the past—until finally answers began to fall into place, though the part Morgon had to play in the resolution of conflict and the forming of a new age became apparent only at the final moment of crisis.
