Toimiva kirja, jos tykkää wushu-genrestä. Heti alusta lähtien käy selväksi että kyseessä on usean kirjan sarja ja juonet tulevat olemaan pitkiä ja polveilevia. Hahmoja on paljon ja melkein pitäisi pitää kirjaa muistaakseen kuka kukin on.

Taistelukohtaukset ovat hienoja, mutta ylenmääräiseen kuvailuun ei sorruta. Usein mainitaan vain hahmon suorittaman erikoisliikkeen nimi ja loput jätetään lukijan mielikuvituksen varaan.
