Omalla alallaan erinomainen kirja. Kuvat ovat tunnelmallisia ja kauniita. Teksti sisältää sopivasti faktaa ajatusten herättämiseen olematta liian tietokirjamainen ja on toisaalta sopivan runollista, mutta silti helppolukuista. Kirja sopii hieman viipyilevään lukemiseen ja tunnelmointiin.

Oivaltava kirja kysyy, voisimmeko oppia luonnolta valtavasti enemmän. Maailmassa on hieman alle kahdeksan miljardia ihmistä. Puita on kolme tuhatta miljardia, …

At first I got an impression that the book felt a bit preachy and judgmental. But by the end I realized that it was and this is how it needed to be. Contentwise it has the facts, it has suggestions what needs to be done to keep the planet habitable for humanity. The justification for the style is that in addition to being a book on facts, it is also a call to activism, a call to vote. And it doesn't really hide the fact that it is about an ideology, but if we put consumerism, extractivism, colonialism against sustainable and just world, I know which side I want to be on. Ideology is not a negative word.
You can argue that it will not reach climate change deniers or capitalists living on consumerism and you are right, but I believe that the author(s) are smart enough that this is …

You can argue that it will not reach climate change deniers or capitalists living on consumerism and you are right, but I believe that the author(s) are smart enough that this is not their target group. Their target group are people who want a sustainable, habitable and just world and aiming to build critical mass to change the direction the world is going by voting and through activism and releasing individuals from responsibility of decisions on which tomatoes are the most sustainable, as it doesn't matter as long as bigger things are not changed.

Very enjoyable outdoor adventure book on a slightly grim subject. The writing was easy to follow and very vivid and as a backcountry adventurer I always enjoy books on survival from situations I have been lucky enough to not get into.

Following climate change "debate" on social media, often it feels that people tend to belittle the effect of the degrees of climate warming. Unfortunately, they don't want to read this book, while they are the ones who absolutely should.
