The story in itself is interesting, but I felt the book was written like a very long news report with a lot of background information around the whole story. In a sense I see that it is good, if you want knowledge of what happened and some insight on why. I feel, though, I would have enjoyed the book more, if it was more focused on the personal stories of the protagonists and less weight on politics and terrorist organisations. All of it is of course part of the story, but I was left feeling like reading a report.

Kirja valisti eskarilaista hauskalla tavalla tietokonepelaamisen riskeistä olematta turhan alleviivaava. Taattua Risto Räppääjä -materiaalia. Ei ehkä kestänyt enää niin hyvin toista lukemista itselle, eskarilainen kuuntelee sujuvasti samoja juttuja kerta toisensa perään.

Iltalukemisena luettu eskarilaiselle. Kirjassa kuvataan ihmisten maailmaa hauskasti ja oivaltavasti ulkopuolisen silmin ja eskarilainen tykkäsi arvuutella mistä on kyse. Myös Helsinkiä on kuvattu tavalla, joka herätti muistoja siellä joskus hetken asuneelle. Jokin suuri juoni jäi ehkä vähän puuttumaan, että olisi sen viidennen tähden ansainnut. Tämä ensimmäinen osa toimi hyvin hahmojen ja paikkojen taustoittajana ja lopussa lupasi lisää. Jatko-osia odotamme mielenkiinnolla.

Too many names for my puny brain to follow but that follows from the subject, but I love listening to Stephen Fry's voice.

Been a fan of Ross Edgley for a long time and followed his swim around Britain on social media when it was happening. As an adventure it was inspiring and I liked how it was tied in the book to his stoic sport science philosophy along with the fact that he read the book himself, but in the end I felt that something - I cannot put my finger on what - was left just a tiny bit lacking from a five star book.
