Sivistävä lukukokemus. Käsite pahan arkipäiväisyydestä (banaaliudesta) on ollut tuttu pitkään ja oli mielenkiintoista viimein lukea Arendtin kirja, jossa käsite esitettiin.
Samalla tuli luettua ahdistava mutta mielenkiintoinen kuvaus yhdestä natsirikollisesta ja siitä miten yhteiskunta vaikutti yksilön moraaliin. Arendtin ironinen tyyli on ilmeisesti aiheuttanut kohua aikanaan, mutta se teki kirjasta miellyttävämmän lukea.
