The book is enjoyable, although a bit too predictable. The story relies on certain archetypes which follow a well-trodden path and have too limited personality - at times they sound like their words and thoughts are quotes from old movies.
There's plenty of action, and particularly in the mid-section of the book the interaction between various characters seems very fluent. On the other hand, when there's a lull, the book often starts to sound like a writing excercise - the amound of adjectives got me reciting "The quick brown fox" in my head.
Having said that, even though the story left something to be desired, at the same time I'm also interested to see the second book of the series.
