The book is about music. About its perception, nature and evolution. Death here is secondary.
Tremendous amount of wit and fun, but also absolutely twisting, emotional and powerful scene that loops back to the beginnings, showing that Pratchett was writing with his heads up, to quote Don Cherry.
Jälleen kerran Kuolema kyllästyy osaansa ja lähtee etsimään jotain muuta, ja ihmisen pitää ruveta hoitamaan Kuoleman hommia. Hohhoijaa... Sitten rockmusiikki rupeaa villitsemään kansaa, ja päästään pohtimaan, mitä kuolemattomuus tarkoittaa. Sekä tietenkin vääntämään paljon sanaleikkejä rockbändien ja -biisien nimistä. Tämä olisi ehkä ollut vähemmän puuduttava, jos tässä olisi ollut jotain omaperäistäkin eikä pelkkää rock- ja elokuvakliseiden coverointia.
