My favorite bit in this book is the amazing rhyme between the beginning and the ending. Monstral relativism!

Happy Hogswatch! Time to hang up your stocking, kidnap the Tooth Fairy (or at least one of her many underpaid associate representatives,) pick some locks, use some very old magick, and assassinate an anthropomorphic personification. However the Oh-god of Hangovers, Susan, her granddad Death, and his noble servant Albert are working hard to save the day, I mean, eve.

Karjupukki on kuolemassa, kun masinoijat juonivat taikuudella kaikki lapset lakkaamaan uskomasta häneen. Tapahtumien tiimellyksessä itse kukin joutuu kohtaamaan lapsuuden hyvät ja pahat uskomuksensa. Kuolema vaihtaa taas tilapäisesti ammattia ja pelastaa tilanteen. Tällä kertaa Kuolema on filosofoinneissaan tavanomaista samastuttavampi. Mutta kokonaisuudessaan tämä joulupukkiperinteen puolustuspuhe oli taas vaihteeksi varsin keskinkertainen lukukokemus.
