Good thriller about hunting a serial killer in Manhattan. The strength of the book was not in the story but in the characters which were original enough even though Ellis played with the archetypes of noir detective stories.

If you like watching NYPD Blue and reading Gaiman's Neverwhere or Raymond Chandler's noir, you might enjoy this book also.
