Iltalukemisena luettu eskarilaiselle. Jatko-osia odotamme mielenkiinnolla.

Been a fan of Ross Edgley for a long time and followed his swim around Britain on social media when it was happening. As an adventure it was inspiring and I liked how it was tied in the book to his stoic sport science philosophy along with the fact that he read the book himself, but in the end I felt that something - I cannot put my finger on what - was left just a tiny bit lacking from a five star book.

Being a long time Mythbusters-fan I forgot all about my other plans on what I will read/listen next when this came on Audible. The book was very well written and structured and Adam Savage read his own text in a perfect way. I guess it is easy to read words that are your own. It had high entertainment value as well as a lot of information, but I wouldn't buy this as a manual on how to make anything. It's more a question of certain philosophy towards making, selection of tools and materials and how to be effective and finish things. While I don't really like self improvement books and wouldn't call this such, it gave me some ideas and I could extrapolate the lessons to outside of the original realm of physically making things and my guess is that some of the ideas might even work. I would say that there are many dimensions in this book (not even sure if all of the ones I found are intentional) and it's also an easy read and highly entertaining even without looking for profound messages.

Having listened to the KLF as a kid and heard of some of the myths, this was a very interesting read/listen which was done as it should have been when it's about KLF and not your standard popular musician / band. Highly entertaining and at the same time very good food for thought.
