Nando Parrado: Miracle in the Andes (2006, Crown Publishers)

In the first hours there was nothing, no fear or sadness, just a black and …

I have not read Alive (or at least i dont remember to have read it) so I didnt know the story before hand but by the book short. I found Nando Parrado's description of events very relatable; while many understandably relied on their faith in God to survive the mental stress of the situation, Nando could not see sense in "God's plan". The deaths of many were but a play of luck in the end, it was up to themselves to save them. But it is also a story about love and companionship, not just survival.
