Eihän tää nyt enää tässä iässä uppoo niin kuin ennen, mutta voi näitä silti rakkaudella muistella ja heppahulluille suositella.

Junji Ito(duplicate): Uzumaki (Hardcover, 2013, VIZ Media)

Kurôzu-cho, a small fogbound town on the coast of Japan, is cursed. According to Shuichi …

It's been ages and I still remember it was terrifying. Giving it four stars, not because I "really liked it" but because I have to acknowledge it's a good horror manga. There's just that I hate horror things, but I was a fool and gave it a try.

reviewed Her Royal Spyness (Royal Spiness series, #[2])

Lady Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie, 34th in line for the throne, is flat broke. She's …

Delightful and lightweight. The old days -feel feels refreshing to me. The romance didn't work for me in this one, but I could still recommend this to people looking for a quick, fluffy read. Don't expect as much action as the title could lead you to believe, though.

reviewed Truly, Madly by Heather Webber (A Lucy Valentine Novel - 1)

Heather Webber: Truly, Madly (Paperback, 2010, St. Martin's)

Lucy Valentine is as smart as can be, as single as you can get, and …

Truly, Madly was just alright for me. The mystery is plausible enough and the characters seem reasonable enough. It just didn't generate much feelings in me. I suppose if you're looking to be entertained and then forget about it until the next book, this could be your go-to series.

reviewed First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones (Charley Davidson, Book 1)

I would have dropped this if it wasn't for the credit I spend on it. It's not horrible enough to put on the horrible shelf. I see how some could enjoy this book. But not me...

It starts with a set-up I quite like. A sort of a psychic solving crimes in an unorthodox way and an attractive __ who's not really into the ghosts thing. Them working together to accomplish something and arguing on the way would've been interesting!

For me, the best kind of humor comes from building up interesting situations, where things take a turn you didn't quite expect but it's still realistic AND characters interacting in unexpected ways, that still fit their personalities. Charley is presented as witty and sassy. She is that, I suppose. But it's just not that funny. Her sarcasm is nothing you haven't seen before, if you've at least reached the age …

Huh!
