@tastytea@bookwyrm.social I know that feeling, I'm super bad with names in fiction, books not as bad as movies or series but still. I often thought about making references but never tried so far

@tofuwabohu@wyrms.de i feel like ereaders should have a function for that built in; opening a popup with a description when tapping on a name or so. 🤔

@tofuwabohu@wyrms.de turns out there is a reference for names and places in the book, i just haven't seen it for some reason. 😄

@tastytea@bookwyrm.social oh no! Did you see it after finishing the book? 😅

@tofuwabohu@wyrms.de yeah, when someone asked about the more than 1 name per person thing i wanted to look up an example and found “A Listing of Persons, Places, Things, and Gods”, properly recorded in the TOC and at the very end, as one should expect. 😄

@tastytea@bookwyrm.social @tofuwabohu@wyrms.de that's always so annoying when that happens! you read the whole book thinking that these confusing things should just be listed somewhere — only to find out that there is a list in the end!
if those lists are not suitable to be in the beginning (to avoid ”spoilers” or for some other reason), there should at least be a mention that such lists exist in the end.
