A great start to what became a great experience reading the series with my wife and oldest daughter over the next three years.

Viime vuonna luin ensimmäistä kertaa yhden Potterin (kyllä, aikuisena), eikä se nyt huono ollut. Ajattelin joka tapauksessa lukea koko sarjankin nyt sitten, paitsi yleissivistyksen vuoksi myös siksi, että omatkin lapset ovat näitä nyt lukemassa — ja että saan Perkeet-haasteeseen luettua sen kirotun kakaran, koska sitä on niin kovasti haukuttu, eikä tietenkään spinovia voi lukea ennen alkuperäisiä.
No mut siis joo, draama on sen verran taiten rakennettu, tarpeettomilta näyttävät sivuluisut yhdistyvät pääjuoneen niin hyvin ja henkilökaarti on juuri sellaista huono-onnisiin nörtteihin vetoavaa, että on tämä maineensa ansainnut. Aikuistakin koskettaa siellä täällä, mikähän olisi mahtanut fiilis olla, jos oikeasti olisi lapsena saanut lukea tämän ensimmäisen kerran?
Second time, this time read to the children as a bedtime story. My son (8 years old) in particular was enthusiastic about the book. And why not? It's a good book; an interesting story, set in an interesting world, with good characters.
